CT Climate March-- fossil fuel dragon art project, from May 11 -May 31
This event will be on Sunday, 12pm-2pm, 210 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT
WHAT:
You are invited to join us as we march in solidarity with a coalition of both environmental and human rights organizations from across the state united under Climate Justice!
WHERE:
We'll be marching from the State Capital to the Hartford Earth Festival where there will be live music; inspiring speakers; food, and games! This is a family friendly event and a wonderful opportunity to get involved in the Climate Justice movement. See what CT has offer. Let's build a CommUNITY that honors our planet. Remember this is your opportunity to make your voice heard. So we invite you to get creative for this event and bring a sign! Let's show our strength and make a BIG impact.
As the CT Climate March approaches, we are invited to join in and help making a huge fossil fuel dragon with New Haven/León Sister City Project. We will bring the dragon to the CT Climate March and display it in different places in New Haven after the March.
The dragon will be ~30 feet long with a diameter of ~5 feet. It will be covered with images that tell the story of how fossil fuels have been causing climate change and other environmental problems.
New Haven/Leon Sister City Project supplies the materials for the Fossil Fuel Dragon Art Project. There will some meetings that we can join in and making the fossil fuel dragon.
Meeting schedules:
May 14th, Thursday, 5 pm-7pm, @ New Haven Green, Church St & Elm St.
May 15th, Friday, 11 am-1 pm, @ New Haven/Leon Sister City Project, 608 Whitney Avenue
May 22nd, Friday, 10am-1pm,@ New Haven/Leon Sister City Project, 608 Whitney Avenue

May 29th, Friday, 4-6pm, @New Haven Green, Church St & Elm St.
Dear friends, the dragon is done! We need more volunteers to help carry it!
This 30-foot Fossil Fuel Dragon will be at the #CTClimateMarch on Sunday. This labor of love was created by the New Haven/Leon Sister City Project.
It's time to break our addiction to dirty fossil fuels! It's time to transition to 100% clean renewable energy!
Stanford environmental engineering professor Mark Jacobson has laid out plans for how each state can transition completely to clean energy. It is possible. What we need is to build the political will -- that is why your presence at the march is important!
